Shawnee State University Admissions Overview:

With largely open admissions, Shawnee State University admits the majority of applicants each year. Interested students will need to have graduated high school (or obtained the GED equivalent) by the time they enroll. To apply, prospective students will need to submit an application and high school transcripts. Students under the age of 21 will also need to send in ACT or SAT scores. Shawnee State University Description:

A fairly young university, Shawnee State was established in 1986, and is located in Portsmouth, Ohio. SSU offers a range of majors and degrees--some popular choices include Nursing, Biology, Animation, Game/Simulation Development, Biology, and Administration. At the graduate level, SSU offers Master's Degrees in Education, Math, and Occupational Therapy. Outside of the classroom, students can join a number of student activities, ranging from the academic to the recreational. Available clubs include: BBQ Club, History Club, the SSU Jedi Order, Gay Straight Student Alliance, and a number of Honor Societies. On the athletic front, the Bears compete in the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) within the Mid-South Conference. Popular sports include basketball, soccer, softball, tennis, and golf.
