Central State University Description:

CSU, located in Wilberforce, Ohio (only a short drive away from Dayton) was founded in 1887, as a two-year institution. It became a four-year college in 1941, and transitioned into a university in the 1960s. A historically Black university, CSU is divided into four distinct colleges: Education, Arts and Sciences, Business, and Engineering. Popular majors include Criminal Justice, Business/Commerce, Psychology, and Education. Outside of the classroom, students can take part in a number of extracurricular activities, ranging from academic clubs, fraternities/sororities, recreational groups, and performing arts groups. CSU is known for its marching band, The Invincible Marching Marauders; and the University Chorus, another renowned group, has been nominated for multiple Grammy Awards. On the athletic front, the CSU Marauders compete in the NCAA Division II, within the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. Popular sports include football, tennis, volleyball, and track and field.
