Learn About the 13 Colleges in the California Collegiate Athletic Association

The California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) competes in the NCAA Division II and fields six men's and seven women's sports. Members are all public universities in California, and all but UCSD are part of the California State University System. The conference can boast of over 150 National Championships since its founding in 1938.

Cal State Dominguez Hills prides itself on the diversity of its student body -- 90 countries are represented. Business and nursing are among the most popular undergraduate majors. Los Angeles is just minutes away.

California State University East Bay

Cal State East Bay's campus has fabulous views of San Francisco Bay. Notable features include a popular undergraduate business program and nationally recognized "Freshman Learning Communities."

California State University Los Angeles

Located in the University Hills district of the city, Cal State LA offers 59 bachelor's degree and 51 graduate degree programs. Professional feilds such as business, education and criminal justice are extremely popular among undergrads.

California State University Monterey Bay

Cal State Monterey Bay has a hands-on approach to learning, and the student experience begins with a first-year seminar and concludes with a senior capstone project. The coastal location is a big draw for many students.

California State University San Bernardino

CSU San Bernardino's student population is so diverse that there are no majority ethnic groups on campus. Students can choose from over 70 degree programs with business being the most popular.

California State University San Marcos

At CSU San Marcos, students can choose from over 60 majors, with programs in Liberal Arts and Sciences being the most popular. It is one of the younger CSU schools, having been founded in 1989.  

California State University Stanislaus

Future athletes will like CSU Stanislaus's new $16 million athletic complex. The park-like campus is located just east of San Jose. Business administration is the most popular undergraduate major.

Chico State University

Chico State is the second oldest of the 23 Cal State Universities, and the school has grown to have over 150 undergraduate degree programs. Strong students should check out Chico's Honors Program.

Humboldt State University

Outdoor lovers will appreciate Humboldt State's location bordering a redwood forest and overlooking the Pacific. Humboldt is the northernmost Cal State University.

San Francisco State University

San Francisco State has a diverse student body -- 67% of undergraduates are students of color, and students come from close to 100 countries. The school has more international students than any other master's degree-granting university in the U.S.

Sonoma State University

University of California San Diego
