University of Hawaii Maui College Description:

The University of Hawaii Maui College is a public commuter college located in Kahului, Hawaii, on the island of Maui. Kahului has a population of around 26,000, and hosts Maui's main airport. The College was founded in 1931 as a vocational school, and was incorporated into the University of Hawaii system in the 1960s. The school's most popular majors and degrees are still generally vocational in nature: Nursing, Automobile Mechanics, Culinary Arts, and Business Technology, among others. Maui College offers three Bachelor of Applied Science Degrees--in Engineering Technology, Sustainable Science Management, and Applied Business and Information Technology. The school recently opened a new $26 million science facility.The majority of academic programs at Maui College lead to a certificate or associate degree. Students have many ways to get involved on campus including participating in student government or the student newspaper. The campus does not have any residential facilities, but there are a few apartment complexes withing walking distance of campus.
