Admissions Chances

Louisiana Tech University, which accepts nearly two-thirds of applicants, has a somewhat selective admissions process. If your SAT/ACT scores and GPA fall within the school's required ranges, you have a strong chance of being accepted. Louisiana Tech also requires applicants to complete the Regents' High School Core curriculum or out of state equivalent. Required coursework includes four units of English, math, science, and social studies; two units of the same foreign language, and one unit of art.

In-state applicants need a core high school GPA of 2.5 combined with an SAT (ERW+M) of 810 or an ACT composite of 15; or, a GPA of 2.0 or higher with an SAT of 1130 (ERW+M) or an ACT of 23. Out-of-state and home-schooled are required to have higher test scores for admission. Note that applicants not meeting all of the admission requirements may be considered based on factors including demographic diversity, age, experience, ethnic background, and creative talent.

In the graph above, the blue and green dots represent students who were accepted to Louisiana Tech. Most had SAT scores of 1000 or higher (ERW+M), an ACT composite of 20 or higher, and a high school average of a "B" or better. Many applicants are quite strong with grades up in the "A" range.
