Admissions Chances

Students who rank in the top 10% of their class, submit SAT or ACT scores, and apply by the priority deadline will be admitted automatically to UNT. Those who rank in the top 15% of their class and have a minimum SAT score of 1030 or an ACT composite score of 20 or above will also be guaranteed admission. Applicants with a lower class rank and higher SAT/ACT scores can also receive automatic admission to UNT. Students who do not qualify for guaranteed admission will have their applications reviewed by an admissions counselor who will make suggestions to improve the applicant's chances for admission.

In the graph above, the green and blue data points represent students admitted to the University of North Texas. The majority of successful applicants had combined SAT scores (ERW+M) of 900 or higher, an ACT composite score of 17 or higher, and a high school average of a "B-" or better. Your chances will be better with grades and test scores above these lower ranges, and a significant percentage of successful applicants had grades in the "A" range.
