This admissions data tells us that most of UNLV's admitted students fall within the top 35% nationally on the SAT. For the evidence-based reading and writing section, 50% of students admitted to UNLV scored between 520 and 620, while 25% scored below 520 and 25% scored above 620. On the math section, 50% of admitted students scored between 510 and 620, while 25% scored below 510 and 25% scored above 620. Applicants with a composite SAT score of 1240 or higher will have particularly competitive chances at UNLV.

Requirements

UNLV does not require the SAT writing section or SAT Subject tests. Note that UNLV considers your highest composite SAT score from a single test date.

ACT Scores and Requirements

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas requires that all applicants submit either SAT or ACT scores. During the 2017-18 admissions cycle, 84% of admitted students submitted ACT scores.

This admissions data tells us that most of UNLV's admitted students fall within the top 55% nationally on the ACT. The middle 50% of students admitted to UNLV received a composite ACT score between 19 and 24, while 25% scored above 24 and 25% scored below 19.

Admissions Chances

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas, which accepts over three-quarters of applicants, has a slightly selective admissions process. UNLV accepts the Common Application and the UNLV Application for admission, but the personal essay is optional, so your grades and test scores are the most important criteria for admission. If your SAT/ACT scores and GPA fall within the school's minimum requirements, you have a strong chance of being accepted. Students with a GPA of 3.0 or above in core courses including four units of English, 3 units of math, 3 units of social science, and 3 units of natural science, have a strong chance of admission. Applicants who do not meet the GPA requirement in core coursework can gain admission with a composite SAT score of 1120 or higher or a composite ACT score of 22 or above.
