Admissions Chances

Marshall University, which accepts over 90% of applicants, has a less selective admissions process. If your SAT/ACT scores and GPA fall within the school's average range, you have a strong chance of being accepted. Marshall University offers unconditional admission to applicants with a minimum ACT composite score of 19 or above, a minimum SAT score of 990 or above, and a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale who meet academic course requirements. High school coursework must include four units of English; four units of mathematics; three units of social studies (including U.S. studies/history); three units of science (all units must be college-preparatory laboratory science, including biology, chemistry, and physics); two units of the same world language or sign language; and one unit of arts.

Applicants who do not meet the GPA, SAT/ACT, or course requirements for admission may be admitted conditionally to University College at the Huntington campus. Students who do not meet the general or conditional requirements may appeal the decision through the Admission Appeals Committee.
