Baker University admissions aren't overly selective, but applicants will need decent grades and standardized test scores to be admitted. Roughly one out of every five applicants will not be admitted. In the graph above, the green and blue dots represent admitted students. You can see that most students who got in had ACT composite scores of 19 or higher, SAT scores (RW+M) of 950 or higher, and high school GPAs of "B" or better. The university certainly has its share of strong students, and many admitted students had grades up in the "A" range.

Baker University, like all colleges, looks at the rigor of your high school curriculum, not just your grades. Success in challenging courses can play a significant role in the admissions equation, so those Advance Placement, IB, Honors, and dual enrollment classes can help your admissions chances.

The Baker University application includes a few short-answer questions, and admissions decisions are based on more than just grades and test scores. Be sure to use these more holistic measures to your advantage if your numerical measures are a bit below the norm for the university. Questions include "What factors led you to apply to Baker University?" and "What are the most important attributes you are looking for in college?" The university also asks a few quirky questions such as "If you entered a horse in the Kentucky Derby, what would you name it?" and "What is your favorite candy?" These latter questions aren't going to play much of a role in the admissions decision, but are more likely to be used as a way for the admissions staff, residence life staff, and academic advisors to get to know you a little better.
