Best wishes to the thousands of students taking the ACT this morning. If you're worried about the exam, keep in mind that at many colleges a strong academic record, glowing letters of recommendation, a winning essay, and interesting extracurricular activities can help make up for a sub-par score.
Also keep in mind that about 850 colleges are now test-optional. The test-optional schools include some excellent choices: Bowdoin, Holy Cross, DePaul, Pitzer, Wake Forest, and many others.

I am really really angry right now. I worked my tail off for four years of High School. I had a 3.9 GPA and a ACT 26 and SAT 1670. I was wait listed at Binghampton, as well as several other Univeristies (Did end up at Binghampton). One of my friends had a 2.7 GPA, was a fragin alcoholic and a little bit of a jerkoff. He went to a Community college and took 16 credits a semester. And believe me my sister went to the same CC and said you could get a’s for just showing up. My friend had a 3.2 Average after 32 Credits, applied to Binghampton and not only got in but got into his program. I got into the same program but only after pulling a 3.8 GPA in my Liberal Arts courses. HOW IS THIS FAIR…Why did I destroy my teenage years and have panic attacks, when I could have puuled the same game as this kid!! This sucks! Plus I bet you my left nut that he fails out within two years.. He is a big big partier. I know some of the Private schools still look at High School for transfers, but what the …is up with SUNY!!
I feel you man, that absolutely sucks.
