Transferring is becoming more common than ever thanks in part to the economic downturn. A well planned transfer can potentially save a student tens of thousands of dollars, and a transfer can help students meet their personal and professional goals. To learn more, check out these five good reasons to transfer and five bad reasons to transfer. Also be sure to read about the hidden costs of transferring.

And now for a little shameless self-promotion: If you'd like to learn more about transferring, tonight at 7:00 p.m. EST I'll be speaking at Transfer Day at CollegeWeekLive. You can sign up for the free event here. I'll be going into detail about reasons for transferring as well as some of the possible pitfalls. Other speakers will be covering topics such as waitlists, international transfers, and essay writing. The first guest speaker is presenting in just a couple minutes!
