If you applied early to Harvard University, you'll be competing with a larger pool of candidates this year compared to 2011. The Harvard Gazette reports that 4,856 students applied to Harvard under the school's early action program. This is an increase of 14.9% over last year when 4,228 students applied early. Even with the larger pool of early applicants, the acceptance rate is likely to be higher among the early action group than the regular admission applicants.
