Top Rhode Island Colleges and Universities

The smallest state has some excellent choices for higher education. My top picks represent colleges with a wide range of personalities and admissions standards. Of course Brown University, one of the prestigious Ivy League schools, made the list. Some of the other schools may be less familiar to many prospective students. You'll find a couple strong Catholic institutions, a school with a largely professional focus, a public university, and a top art school. To see who made the cut, see the complete list of top Rhode Island colleges. Schools were selected based on their 4- and 6-year graduation rates, retention rate, value, and curricular strengths.

If there is another Rhode Island college that you think should have made the list, share your recommendation below. My selection criteria may have little to do with your own.
