Northeastern is one of the many excellent universities in the Greater Boston area. MIT, Harvard, Boston College, Boston University and many other schools are all nearby. With nearly 30,000 student, Northeastern certainly is not small, but the university has a healthy 14 to 1 student / faculty ratio and an average class size of 26. The university also has a Division I athletics program that competes in the Colonial Athletic Association.
