For those of you who aren't fans of standardized testing, there's some good news from DePaul University. Starting with next year's application cycle (students entering college in fall, 2012), DePaul will no longer require SAT or ACT scores. However, the university does want to get to know its applicants, so students who withhold test scores will be asked to write a few extra short essays. DePaul joins the more than 800 test-optional colleges and universities. Other well-known test-optional schools include Bates College, Bowdoin College, George Mason University, Sewanee, Wake Forest University, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and many others.
