Admissions Chances

Villanova University, which accepts just over one-fourth of applicants, has a selective admissions pool with high GPAs and SAT/ACT scores. However, Villanova has a holistic admissions process involving other factors beyond your grades and test scores. A strong application essay and glowing letters of recommendation can strengthen your application, as can participation in meaningful extracurricular activities and a rigorous course schedule. The Villanova application also includes a supplemental essay which allows the admissions committee to gain a better understanding of each applicant. Students with particularly compelling stories or achievements can still receive serious consideration even if their grades and test scores are outside Villanova's average range.

To apply, students can use the Common Application. Villanova has Early Action and Early Decision programs that can improve admission chances for students who are sure the university is their top choice school.

In the graph above, the blue and green dots represent accepted students. You can see that the majority of students admitted to Villanova reported high school GPAs of 3.5 or higher, combined SAT scores of about 1250 or higher (ERW+M), and ACT composite scores of 27 or higher.
