Sewanee: The University of the South, announced earlier this week that they will be changing their admissions criteria for the class entering in 2010. SAT and ACT scores will now be optional. The Sewanee press release states the change is to broaden the university's applicant pool.

The list of test-optional colleges and universities has grown to over 800 in recent years as the effectiveness of the SAT and ACT to predict college success has come under question.
