Don't Assume You Can't Afford College

The sinking economy has many families assuming they can't afford college, and numerous media reports seem to suggest that financial aid and grants are going to dry up.

Before you give up on higher education because of your financial concerns, check out these tips on paying for college from David Levy, the director of financial aid at Scripps College (Scripps, I should add, is a great college I featured in a weekly spotlight and included in my list of top women's colleges). Levy provides links to some excellent free resources that can help you figure out how much you can afford, and help you locate grants, scholarships and loans.
