Today's Cotton Bowl features two public universities that offer undergraduates a wide array of academic, athletic and social opportunities. Soon we'll see the Red Raiders face off against the Rebels on the football field, but how do the universities measure up on the college admissions front?

Texas Tech:

  • Percentage of applicants accepted: 90%
  • Middle 50% SAT Math: 500 / 610
  • Middle 50% SAT Reading: 480 / 580
  • Middle 50% ACT Composite: 21 / 26
  • Total Cost (In-State): $17,393
  • Total Cost (Out-of-State): $24,065
University of Mississippi (Ole Miss)
  • Percentage of applicants accepted: 83.9%
  • Middle 50% SAT Math: 460 / 560
  • Middle 50% SAT Reading: 460 / 570
  • Middle 50% ACT Composite: 20 / 26
  • Total Cost (In-State): $16,484
  • Total Cost (Out-of-State): $22,988
The University of Mississippi's price tag, especially for out-of-state students, measures up favorably to the majority of comparable schools. For more admissions data and financial aid information, check out the Texas Tech profile and the Ole Miss profile.
