Thinking of Business School?
Business Week's 2008 ranking of undergraduate business programs is out. The University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School maintained its top spot, but the University of Virginia and Cornell made significant gains. What exactly does it take to be #1? Well, a $60,000 median starting salary and 1439 average SAT scores certainly help.
Be careful not to be blinded by the salaries and rankings -- the academic pressures of top programs aren't for everyone. Also, if you're thinking of continuing on for an MBA, an undergraduate business degree isn't a prerequisite. A quality liberal arts education that develops your math, communication, and writing skills can serve you just as well, if not better, than a narrow pre-professional business program.
